Elin Melberg (b. Stavanger, Norway, 1976). In 2002 she graduated with a Masters of Fine Art from the Royal College of Art (London). Since 2003 Melberg has lived and worked in Stavanger, also being part of the artist-run projectspace Prosjektrom Normanns. She is co-founder and co-owner of the creative working space Elefant LLC in Stavanger. Elin Melberg has recently exhibited at Sølvberget Galleri (Stavanger), Galleri Format (Oslo), Open Source Gallery (NY) (2016), Griffin Gallery (London) (2015), Vestlandsutstillingen, curated by Kjersti Solbakken (touring 2015); Stavanger Art Museum (2014); Galleri Opdahl (Stavanger) (2014); KUBE Art Museum (Aalesund) (2013); The Annual Autumn Exhibition (Kunstnernes Hus) (2011); Galleri Maria Veie (Oslo) (2010/11/12); The Spring Exhibition (Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen) (2012).
She has been represented several art fairs and was awarded Public Space Project at Hong Kong International Art Fair (2011). Melberg’s first major installation piece "I wish I wish I wish in vain" (2011) is included in the collection of Stavanger Art Museum (2014). Other collections include Oslo Municipality Art Collection, Stavanger Concert Hall, KORO, Statoil Art Collection, Stavanger Municipality, Royal College of Art, Norwegian Petroleum Directorate and the Bazil Alkazzi Foundation. Melberg currently receives a three year working grant from the government.
